There are currently two different audio output modifications for Gristleism.
Click below to download PDF instructions for either method:
• The simplest method is just connecting a jack socket
in parallel with the speaker terminals.
EASY MOD PDF
• An alternative (complex) method uses a switched socket
to mute the speaker when connected.

Use this Gristleism check list
1 - Have you inserted fresh batteries?
2 - Are the batteries inserted correctly? - please check the orientation diagram in the battery compartment
3 - Have you turned-on the unit using the left-hand control? - which is a combined on/off switch & volume
4 - Also please try turning the right-hand (pitch) control to the rightmost/maximum position.
If none of these tips help then we must assume your Gristleism is DOA.
If so please contact your retailer for a replacement.

The only controls on the Gristleism unit are the ones listed, namely:
a Volume Control, a Pitch Control and a Loop-Selector switch.
Gristleism does not feature an audio output socket or a DC power input socket.
The reasons for this specific combination of controls are primarily to do with demand, aesthetics and fabrication costs.
However, now Gristleism is available this page includes instructions on how to modify a Gristleism unit to include an audio output jack and (in the future) possibly how to add an external DC input socket.
In 2010 this section will also allow Gristleism users to share their own mods and circuit-bending ideas with the wider Gristleism community.
